Sunset Presbyterian represents a deceptively complex Acoustic
Wood project. A simple linear acoustic plank product was envisioned,
but the design called for herringbone patterned panels in ceiling
clouds. The acoustical contractor faced an expensive nightmare
to field cut and assemble standard 7 9/16" x 96" planks
into custom clouds. Instead 9Wood suggested fabricating each panel
size in our factory. We attached Soundtex and stiffener bars on
the backside, so the contractor only needed to install the panels
to a standard 4x4 t-grid. This achieved the architect's design
and kept installation costs much lower than expected.
