The Most Accessible Wood Ceiling

About Thomas Nelson

Thomas started at 9Wood in 2019 and currently serves as the Marketing Nut. He is a proud nerd who regularly collects memes and appreciates a good DIY wood working video on YouTube. His latest woodworking project was a home office book shelf made using the finest, hand picked ingredients form 9Wood’s wood dumpster.

Accessibility and dropped wood ceilings are a classic conflict because you have your mechanical systems, HVAC, lighting, and electrical, and then you cover it all up with highly custom decorative wood products. With ceiling accessibility, you must think about the damage over time, whether you’re the designer or the facilities person taking a panel down.

Because of the way the hardware interfaces with the ceiling grid, True Access is the most accessible wood ceiling system ever.

What is True Access?

The beauty of the True Access products is that the hardware attached to the product for suspension is also what makes them removable. Accessing a wood ceiling panel doesn’t require tools and only takes one person. The panel simply hinges down and never needs to touch the floor. That makes it safer for facilities and protects the ceiling over time.

We’ve designed the True Access products to work with standard HD 15/16th heavy-duty T-bar grid.

How Does it Self-Align?

Anytime you put a panel back, it aligns itself to the grid, which ensures straight and consistent reveals, just like when it was first installed. It doesn’t require the facilities or contractors to line anything up as long as they put the springs on the brackets that are on the ceiling grid and then push the panel into place. They’ll hear the spring click. The alignment brackets allow the tile to glide into place. Those reveals will be just as consistent as when the product was initially installed.

A Variety of Accessible Wood Ceiling Options

True Access is more about the hardware than about a particular system. We’ve been able to apply True Access to a range of our products, including Tiles, Linears, and Grilles.

Is True Access Compatible With MEP and Penetrations?

True Access products are compatible with a variety of mechanical and electrical penetrations. As with all our products, any fixtures must be supported independently of the 9Wood product.

Specifying True Access means designers and architects no longer have to consider the placement of additional access panels. With every panel, accessible access is everywhere.

Zero tools.

One person.

Infinite access.
